Well… Hello There!

So… in terms of updates, there are many. However, I’ll start off with the usual apology: sorry, Nick and I are very busy and have been completely inactive on iMD for months.  Now that that’s finished, I’ll continue.   As I said earlier, I preordered the Oculus Rift DK2. Not only did I preorder it, but I just received it a few days ago. Now… since I’m not Nick, I wasn’t able to make a great unboxing video, however, from here on, there will be Oculus Rift content. I’ve already tried it out on a few simulators (ie. Matrix simulator, Live For Speed 2, Tron Light Cycles Simulator, etc.).   To clarify, since the Oculus Rift is a one person headset, Nick and I will somehow figure out how to record content of both of us playing, whether it be turn-based or whatever. But don’t worry, there WILL be videos of us falling off our chairs as we use the headset…   Stay Hungry… Stay Foolish  ...

Olympus PEN E-PL1 Review

So, here comes the full-fledged review. I’ll break it down into 3 main parts, as follows: Overall Picture Quality, Ease Of  Use, and Compatible Lenses.   1. Overall Picture Quality The overall quality of the camera is very impressive. As a 4/3 camera should be (having practically the same technical specs as an entry-level DSLR), the Olympus PEN E-PL1 (which I’ll refer to as the Olympus PEN) created stunning stills (some which can be found on the photography page here). Colors were vibrant, edges were crisp, and blurred backgrounds looked fantastic. However, this camera only performed well at very low ISO settings due to a Noise Reduction feature at ISO settings under 200. When at any setting higher, the camera, even in auto mode, had trouble with lighting, focusing, and a lot of noise in photos. Example of “No Noise” and “Noise”: 2.  Ease Of  Use Ease Of  Use was a major setback when taking pictures with the Olympus PEN. There were loads of issues I had with the GUI and menu configuration as well as the actual LCD...

The Camera Has Arrived

So, I’ve recently received an Olympus PEN E-PL1 micro 4/3 camera as a gift, for my birthday, which was on July 29th.  I’ve already taken many test shots, some of which were actually good. Since it’s my first time using a DSLR, or rather a hybrid DSLR. The definition of a 4/3 camera, basically a very portable DSLR. I’ve been practicing in both Manual and Automatic, usually trying comparing f-stop (aperture), shutter speed, and ISO settings specifically. I’ll be doing a more thorough review of the camera in nearby future. But for now, many of the pictures I take will be posted here.   Yes, I’m actually still doing the signature still…   Stay Hungry… Stay...

Colonizing America Live for Columbus Day!

Hey everyone, Nick here! I have amazing news! Colonizing America is now out! Anyone who is whitelisted in the server can now explore the Americas. It has been a long time since I originally thought of the idea back in March, so I am very excited to have it finally finished.

As promised, I uploaded the trailer for the map, which you can check out on YouTube or the videos page. To get to Colonizing America, head to the Login world and turn around to see the purple stained clay. Don’t know how to get to the Login world? No problem! Just do /warp Spawn and you will teleported there.

Enjoy colonizing the Americas!

We’ve Done It!

Posted by on Oct 8, 2013 in Colonizing America, iMD, Minecraft, Technology, The iMD Server

We’ve Done It!

Here it is folks, the moment you’ve all you’ve been waiting for: the completion of the Colonizing America trailer! There’s some really awesome news, but also some cruddy news. I’ll start with the awesome news: It’s done! We’ve finished it, the song, voice over, are all amazing! Now the bad news: when we were panning the landscape, there were some annoying chunks that didn’t want to completely load. We’d really would’ve loved there not to be any. Both Nick and I are very sorry and hope you’ll be forgiving for tarnishing the experience.

Colonizing America Bugs Fixed!

Posted by on Oct 1, 2013 in Colonizing America, iMD, Minecraft, The iMD Server, Updates

Colonizing America Bugs Fixed!

Hey everyone, Nick here! I wanted to give you all a quick update on the status of Colonizing America. David and I were just ready to release the map a while ago, when we realized there were a few bugs. When we went to dig down, we found out there were no caves or ores. Just solid stone. So, I went into WorldPainter and added the caves and ores back in. Unfortunately, that caused all the creations we built in the map to turn into stone. So, I once again went into WorldPainter and merged the new world with our older version, and all the problems were solved!

Now that we fixed the map, we have started working on the epic trailer. Right now it’s a surprise, so you’ll just have to wait see just how amazing it is! We are planning to finish the trailer by this weekend and hopefully release the map on our server the weekend after. Of course, the dates are subject to change, as we might get a big project or something in school.

One thing I will show you, is a sneak peek of some of the cave systems. They are awesome! Pictured below is just one of the amazing caves. So, until next time, stay tuned for more updates!

A Few Exciting Updates

A Few Exciting Updates

1st update: Nick has finished building the iMD Headquarters, all we have left to do is use it!

2nd update: There may be a Geneva Convention coming to the iMD Minecraftia (the iMD Minecraft Server). It will be on the topic of stopping combat logging and tp’ing away during a fight. It might even end in a new plugin to be added. We’ll try getting some more information on it to you all later.

And, we’re back!

Posted by on Aug 26, 2013 in iMD, Updates

And, we’re back!

Hey everyone, Nick here! David and I are finally back from our vacations! Unfortunately, today is David’s first day of school, so that’s why he hasn’t written anything yet. I don’t start school again until Wednesday. I am not prepared for school. I wish I had another week to do more iMacdanny projects. Most of the stuff we were working on will only be worked on the weekends or nights we don’t have too much homework. Don’t worry, we are not going to abandon any projects! Our primary focus right now will be finishing Colonizing America.

My vacation to Cape Cod was pretty good. It was very relaxing except for one thing. The Internet. In Cape Cod I mostly got 1G service, so the internet didn’t really work at all. The speeds were close to dial up. I’ve included a screenshot of a speed test I ran while I had my computer tethered to my iPhone. I was still able to post the Daily Professional, though it took thirty minutes every day. Other than that, the Cape was great! You can check out some photos I took on my Instagram . I will also be posting some photos to the Daily Professional of some pictures I took with my DSLR at the Cape eventually. Stay tuned for more updates!

An iMD vacation.

An iMD vacation.

Hey everyone, Nick here! It’s that time of year again, all of us at the iMD network are taking a vacation! David is going to New Jersey and I’m going to Cape Cod. So, unfortunately for the next week, there won’t be much activity on the site. I will try to continue to post the daily professional from the Cape, but I don’t know how well tethering the internet from a two year old iPhone will work. Also when we get back, we will only have a few days until school starts again. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, enjoy the last bit of summer!

Colonizing America Update!

Posted by on Aug 12, 2013 in Colonizing America, iMD, Minecraft, The iMD Server, Updates

The Map is 85% done! All that’s left is to literally smooth out everything (while not crashing the server). In spirit of this huge addition to the iMacdanny Minecraft Server, Nick and I are making a trailer for the coming map. Nick has already recorded his narration and all we have to do is add music and make it awesome, which will be an easy job for us. Hope you’ll enjoy the trailer and the map!
